As the program prepares for its 90th anniversary inthe Alliance is calling all alumni to reconnect and join in the celebration. Founded inthe Awards is the longest-running, most prestigious program of its kind, having fostered the creativity and talent of millions of students through recognition, exhibitions and publications.
The Awards is the largest program of its kind, and provides students across the country with opportunities for exhibition and publication of their work, as well as a series of celebratory events in New York City for national winners and their teachers. The judges selected 1, regional award recipients.
The other four nominees from the region that will compete for the national American Vision Medal include schools such as Seven Hills for an architecture piece, Paul Laurence Dunbar for a digital art, Sycamore for a photo, and Wyoming for a fashion design.
National Winners will also be invited to an award ceremony held in Carnegie Hall with famous guest speakers such as Meryl Streep and Usher.
The exhibition and accompanying public programs are co-sponsored by the Sheila C. A complete list of the national winners is available here. The Alliance partners with regional affiliates across the country to bring the program to local communities, and works with a network of more than 60 colleges and universities to increase the range of scholarship and award opportunities.
The International Quorum of Motion Picture Producers and photographers at Magnum Photos contributed their talents to encourage people to unite around the cause of freedom, human rights and dignity around the world. Weisberger has written three novels since The Devil Wears Prada, but this is her first return to the cutthroat world of Runway magazine. It chronicles the growth of the environmentalism over five decades, including the Love Canal pollution scandals, the proposed dams in the Grand Canyon, Chico Mendes fighting the deforestation in the Amazon, the Greenpeace movement and other signature moments and movements in environmental activism.

In the Writing Competition, two Gold Keys were awarded as well as one silver key. In a recent interview with the Petaluma Patchdirector Mark Kitchell points out that the film is not quite ready for general release. This year Sylvia Nica ’20, won a Silver Key award for her prose piece “Up in The Air”. Ruth Kramer ’18 won two Gold Keys awards for her poem, “Pink and Blue” and a short story entitled “Hair”.
